Executive Transactions

German JURGEN GEDE was introduced as the new exec director of the Vietnam Football Federation. Gede will work in Vietnam for 24 months starting from Aug. 1 and "has been tasked with raising the quality of the country’s football scene as well as setting a development plan for the future." Gede entered football at the Schalke 04 training center in '70. He became a player at the club from '75-77 before moving to Preussen Munster and Fortuna Cologne (VIETNAM NEWS, 6/21). ... Professional Footballers Australia has appointed former Melbourne City football boss JOHN DIDULICA as the union's new CEO. Didulica previously served in the role between '02 and '07, but returns "as a permanent replacement" for the departed ADAM VIVIAN, who was pushed out amid "internal conflicts earlier this year." More recently, Didulica "spearheaded Melbourne Heart's inaugural recruitment drive" when it entered the A-League in '08 (AAP, 6/20).
