Event Notes: UEFA Switches Venue Of Hearts-FC Infonet Europa League Match

UEFA has switched Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian's Europa League first qualifying round first leg to Tynecastle "due to a fixture clash in Tallinn." Hearts were drawn against FC Infonet and "were set to enjoy the potential advantage of a home game in the return leg on July 7." The Edinburgh leg "will now take place on June 30" (HERALD SCOTLAND, 6/20).

STADIUM OPENER: Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland wants an Ashes Test "to be the first event staged at the new Perth Stadium." The A$1.2B ($890M) venue was "initially scheduled" to be opened in time for the '18 Australian Football League season, but an Ashes Test "could be played there" in late '17. Sutherland will meet West Australian Premier Colin Barnett "to discuss the proposal" (AAP, 6/20).

BACK ON THE LIST: The UAE Jiu-jitsu Federation announced the return of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam World Tour '16-17 on Sunday. The grand slam will be held in five int'l host cities around the world: L.A., Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Abu Dhabi and London. According to the UAEJJF, the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam World Tour will be broadcast live by over 10 major TV networks around the world including the U.S. and North America, Brazil, Colombia, Europe, Middle East & North Africa, China, Japan and Asia (THE NATIONAL, 6/19).

NANTES TO HOST 3-ON-3: The 2017 FIBA 3x3 World Championships will be held in Nantes from June 17-21. The French Basketball Federation (FFBB), the City of Nantes and the association "The Bridge" will organize the fourth edition of the competition on the popular site of the Parc des Chantiers, on the Isle of Nantes (FIBA).
