JEAN-PAUL PHILIPPOT has been re-elected for a fifth consecutive term as president of the European Broadcasting Union at the 76th General Assembly in Bečići, Montenegro. Philippot began his tenure with the EBU in '09 and will serve for another two years before ending his presidency in '18. MONICA MAGGIONI, who has served as EBU VP since '15, was also re-elected for a two-year term (EBU). ... Nolan Partners announced the opening of its operation in North America with offices in L.A. and N.Y. and the appointment of CHAD BIAGINI of Nolan Partners North America. Biagini brings over 10 years' experience in exec search representing a range of sports clients including Ultimate Fighting Championship, WWE, Special Olympics and teams across MLB, NHL, MLS and NFL (Nolan Partners). ... Visa VP/Brand Strategy & Innovation ANDREW COHEN has assumed additional duties on the payment processor’s Rio Games and FIFA platforms. An SBJ Forty Under 40 winner in '10, Cohen was given the sports assignments after Head of Global Product Marketing JEREMY NICHOLAS left the company in May. Cohen’s expanded duties include global creative development, which includes the sports projects, and product marketing, but his title will not change. He continues to report to Chief Brand & Innovation Marketing Officer CHRIS CURTIN (Ben Fischer, Staff Writer).

COACHES/MANAGERSJORGE SAMPAOLI confirmed that he will be appointed La Liga side Sevilla’s new coach once UNAI EMERY’s exit is formalized. Links between Sampaoli and Sevilla “intensified after Emery’s resignation last week,” and the 56-year-old acknowledged on Saturday for the first time that he was bound for Sevilla. Sampaoli is “best known for leading Chile to victory at Copa America 2015” (FOOTBALL ESPANA, 6/18). ... Argentine first division side Colón named PAOLO MONTERO its new coach. He "is expected to be officially presented on Monday" (CLARÍN, 6/16). ... Belgian First Division A side Anderlecht "appointed former FC Nürnberg Manager RENÉ WEILER" as its new head coach. The 42-year-old former Swiss int'l replaces BESNIK HASI, who left for Lefia Warsaw earlier this year (KINGFUT, 6/17).
