Sky Deutschland Builds Sports Broadcast Center Beside Munich Headquarters

German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland "will build a sports programming broadcast centre next to its corporate headquarters in Unterföhring near Munich," according to Jörn Krieger of BROADBAND TV NEWS. In The Cube, two studios of 600 square meters and 250 square meters as well as an additional new surface of 250 square meters for Bundesliga coverage "will initially be created." In total, the broadcast center will offer 1,700 square meters of space with the investment amounting to a two-digit million euro figure, according to Sky Deutschland. From summer '17, Sky’s complete live sports programming "will be produced in the new building." Through the new facilities, "more than 40 new full-time jobs as well as 50 to 80 positions for freelancers will be created in the areas of studio production and playout" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 6/16).
