Nike named VP & GM/Global Men's Training CRAIG ZANON VP & GM/global basketball. He replaces MICHAEL JACKSON, who resigned. Zanon will lead Nike's partnership with the NBA beginning in fall '17. In the interim, he also will continue in his role with global men's training (Nike). ... Argentine first division side San Lorenzo coach PABLO GUEDE resigned from his position. The "determining factor was a difference with club execs, who decided to renew the contract of JUAN MERCIER despite opposition from Guede" (CLARÍN, 6/15). ... Spanish second division side Lugo named LUIS CÉSAR SAMPEDRO its coach for next season. He replaces JOSÉ DURÁN. Sampedro arrives at Lugo after three and a half seasons with Albacete, which he helped secure promotion to the second division (MARCA, 6/15). ... Spanish second division side Alcorcón named COSMIN CONTRA its new coach. Contra most recently coached Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande (MARCA, 6/15). ... Spanish Basketball League (ACB) club Laboral Kutxa President JOSEAN QUEREJETA on Tuesday confirmed the departure of Croatian coach VELIMIR PERASOVIC, who will coach Turkish club Efes next season (EFE, 6/14). ... Former Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps coach MARTIN RENNIE "was sacked by a South Korean second-tier club." Seoul E-Land FC announced that Rennie "will be released from his contract by mutual agreement." The 41-year-old Scot "became the club's first-ever head coach when he joined the K League Challenge side in July 2014." The club, run by South Korean retail giant E-Land, did not "reveal the reason for the contract termination." Assistant coach IN CHANG-SOO "will temporarily guide the team" until it hires a new head coach this month (YONHAP, 6/15).
