More Than 12 Million Viewers Watch Iceland's European Championship Debut On ZDF

German public broadcaster ZDF "recorded more than 12 million viewers for its broadcast of Euro 2016 on Tuesday," according to Sidney Schering of QUOTENMETER. The game between Portugal and Iceland, which kicked off at 9pm, drew 12.29 million viewers. The number translated into a market share of 40.8%. In the target demographic 14-49, the 1-1 draw obtained a 46.2% share as 5.18 million viewers tuned in. The prior game between Austria and Hungary attracted 8.6 million viewers, including 2.7 million in the target demo. Hungary's 2-0 victory drew a 38.4% market share. In the target demo, ZDF's broadcast had a 37.8% share (QUOTENMETER, 6/15).
