Media Notes: Optus Secures Rights To Int'l Champions Cup

Optus expanded its football offering by securing the broadcast and digital rights to 15 exclusive matches and three simulcast matches of the pre-season Int'l Champions Cup tournament. The agreement with Channel Nine comes as Optus continues to broaden its football offering, with customers now able to view a host of top-flight football matches from across the world. Optus will broadcast 15 matches from the U.S./Europe leg of the tournament starting from July 23, which customers will be able to view exclusively live on Optus Sport (Optus).

Fight Network 
announced a programming deal to broadcast the weekly New Japan Pro Wrestling English-language series in Canada and globally in over 30 countries across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Originally broadcast on AXS TV in the U.S. and premiering on Fight Network on July 7, new episodes of New Japan Pro Wrestling will debut every Thursday at 9pm in Canada (Fight Network).

Sony Pictures Networks India acquired the exclusive broadcast and digital rights to telecast the third edition of the Indian Open World Ranking Snooker Tournament in India and the Indian sub-continent. This year’s tournament will be held in Hyderabad from July 4-9 (INDIAN TELEVISION, 6/13).
