UEFA Forced To Remind Euro 2016 Stadium Controllers About Replay Policy

UEFA has been "forced to remind stadium controllers at Euro 2016 what they can and cannot show on their big screens following controversy in Wales' win over Slovakia," according to Kieran Gill of the London DAILY MAIL. Bad tackles, fouls and mistakes "made by the match officials were replayed for the 37,831 inside the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux on Saturday and European football's governing body have had to step in." Showing replays "ran the risk of incensing supporters who were wronged and put pressure on Svein Oddvar Moen, the Norwegian referee not used to handling such a significant event." UEFA confirmed that it had taken steps to "prevent it from happening again" at the tournament in France. Yet this "was not the first time an international tournament host had broken these rules" (DAILY MAIL, 6/13).
