Germany's Kabel Eins Draws Double-Digit Shares For Copa America Coverage

German free-to-air TV channel kabel eins "drew double digit market shares" for its Copa America broadcasts, according to Krei & Hennings of DWDL. The opening game between the U.S. and Colombia, which started at 3:34am on Saturday, drew 320,000 viewers during the first half. The number translated into a market share of 10.5%. In the target demographic 14-49, the match obtained a 12.3% share. During the second half of the game, which Colombia won 2-0, the viewership fell to 210,000. The second half drew a market share of 8.5% in the target demo. The game between Brazil and Ecuador, which aired in the night to Sunday recorded a market share of 11.9%, along with 11.7% in the target demo.

HANDBALL BUNDESLIGA: German sports channel Sport1 "attracted close to 200,000 viewers" for its broadcast of final Handball Bundesliga (HBL) on Sunday. The broadcast drew 190,000 viewers and recorded a 1.5% market share on Sunday. In the target demo, the coverage, which saw the Rhein-Necker Lions win their first German championship, obtained a 1.2% share (DWDL, 6/6).
