Next season's supposed Premier League ball has been "leaked" online. The ball, named Nike Ordem 4, "sees a blend of blue, green and purple colours surround the new logo" that will be used from '16-17. Yet "it remains to be seen whether the snap is authentic, with the Premier League having already been forced to deny a leak." EPL officials will "officially announce the fixture dates for next season on June 15 but a document online claimed to have beat them to it." It led to the Premier League's official account writing on Twitter: "We understand the excitement that a new set of Premier League fixtures holds to the fans and media. What has been put into the public domain over this last week is hoax" (London DAILY MAIL, 6/6).
Football fans "who fancy a flutter on
Euro 2016 should put their money on
France to win the tournament on their own turf, according to analysts at
Goldman Sachs." The Wall Street bank "reckons the French side has a 23% chance of exploiting home advantage to triumph in the final." England will "put on a creditable performance" by making it into the semifinals, according to the bank's predictions, losing out to Spain. However, Goldman warned that "it is difficult to assess how much faith one should have in these predictions" (
London GUARDIAN, 6/6).
