BeIN Sports Sees French Subscription Numbers Jump To 2.8M In Lead-Up To Euro 2016

As the only French TV channel that will broadcast Euro 2016 in its entirety, “beIN Sports is looking for its subscription numbers to jump in the months of June and July,” according to Alexandre Bailleul of SPORTBUZZ BUSINESSS. BeIN Sports Broadcasting Dir Florent Houzot said that the channel has “claimed more than 2.8 million subscribers” so far. Houzot: “We are taking a new direction with the Euro and we will surpass 3 million subscribers.” BeIN Sports will broadcast live all 51 matches of the tournament and more than 18 hours of coverage on two channels. To “enrich the spectators’ experience,” the company has enlisted a number of “luxury consultants” for Euro 2016 including: Arsenal Manager Arsène Wenger, Paris St. Germain women’s player Laure Boulleau and 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 winner Marcel Desailly (SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS, 6/2).
