Marketplace Roundup: Arsenal, Betfair Renew Partnership Until '19

Arsenal and Betfair renewed and expanded their partnership until '19. The new deal sees Betfair become the club's official betting partner in the U.K., Europe, South and Central America. The expanded partnership also gives Betfair increased branding at all domestic fixtures played at Emirates Stadium and additional hospitality on a matchday for clients and customers. Betfair will also have access to first-team players to develop promotional and marketing activities (Arsenal). 

FIVE-YEAR DEAL: Irish telecom Eir announced its intention to partner with the Gaelic Athletic Association until '20 "in what is a major sponsorship deal for both parties." The multi-million euro sponsorship "will be supported by an advertising and communications campaign that is being developed to showcase how technology is positively impacting the game, players' preparation, fans and communities involved." The new ad "New Play Same Passion" -- was shot in May and features GAA Senior Players Cillian O'Connor from Co Mayo and Fionn Fitzgerald from Co Kerry (LIMERICK POST, 5/31).

AIR NEYMAR: Nike has "increasingly placed more stock in Neymar's rising global status," and with the worlds of basketball and football crossing paths more and more frequently, it looks as if the brand is "making moves to cash in that intersection." Neymar has "made no secret of his hoops love" over the years, and there have been rumors "that there could be a Jordan Brand collaboration in the works." While primarily a basketball brand, this would not "be the first time that Jordan has done collaborations with outsiders." With Neymar, the brand is "set to dip their toes" into the football world for the first time (FOX SPORTS, 5/31).

Int'l Motor Sports Ltd.
, organizer of the Wales Rally GB, announced a new title partnership with Dayinsure, one of the U.K.'s leading short-term car insurance firms. This year's U.K. round of the FIA World Rally Championship will be known as the Dayinsure Wales Rally GB (SPEED CAFE, 6/1).

The French Professional Football League (LFP) and adidas on Wednesday unveiled the new match ball for the Ligue 1 ’16-17 season. The ball will be used for the first time on Aug. 6, at the Trophée des Champions match between Paris St. Germain and Olympique Lyonnais. The ball will be available for purchase starting July 15 at all adidas shops for €140 ($156). A replica version will be available for €25 ($28) (LFP).

IPC Athletics announced it will livestream all 32 hours of live action from the 2016 IPC Athletics European Championships in Grosseto, Italy from June 11-16. More than 600 athletes from at least 36 countries will contest 171 medal events in Grosseto in what is the last major regional competition ahead of the Paralympic Games in Rio (IPC Athletics).

French Ligue 1 side SM Caen “presented its new logo Tuesday.” The logo “keeps red and blue as the principal colors and integrates a Viking’s head at the center.” The club “also signed Umbro as its new kit sponsor, replacing Nike” (L’ÉQUIPE, 6/1).

Serie A side AC Milan and Nivea Men have extended their global partnership for a further three seasons. Players of the Italian football club will continue to feature in ad campaigns for the cosmetics brand. As part of the new contract, Nivea will increase its involvement with the Milan Foundation, the club's charitable organization. Nivea Men, which is part the Beiersdorf Group, has been a partner of the club since '08-09 season (AC Milan).
