Liverpool Submits Proposals For 'Klopp Salute' To Be Face Of New-Look Anfield

The “Klopp salute” is set to "dominate" the Kop and Liverpool Main stand under new proposals from the club, according to Liam Murphy of the LIVERPOOL ECHO. A planning application has been submitted to Liverpool city council "for a giant poster" showing the team, with arms raised and hand-in-hand, saluting Liverpool fans. In March the club "submitted a planning application for a new store facing onto Walton Breck Road." The application references the “Bundesliga-style team celebration that Jurgen has introduced since his arrival; the squad with linked hands, arms aloft, acknowledging the fans in joint celebration.” Liverpool said that the images within the application "are subject to change and only indicative of what it may look like." Under the proposals there will be "self adhesive vinyls printed in full colour and applied to glazing panels and frame" of the Liverpool store, Boot Room and ticket collection office. According to a letter accompanying the application, "The 'Look package' graphics artwork proposal reflects the vision of the Club for the stadium as a 365-days/year visitor destination drawing people into Anfield and acting as a catalyst to the regeneration of the wider area" (LIVERPOOL ECHO, 5/31).
