Marketplace Roundup: Former Spain Int'l Xavi Stars In Qatar National Bank Commercial

Former Barcelona and Spanish national team player Xavi "stars in a new light-hearted commercial for Qatar National Bank in which he plays every character at a football match, including all the players on the pitch, even the goalkeeper." The 36-year-old, currently playing for Qatari club Al Saad, "cuts an unlikely photographer, cameraman and referee, but his coaching debut is far more credible as he ponders the next steps" in his career. Xavi "has been tipped to return" to the Nou Camp as manager in the future (London DAILY MAIL, 5/30).

Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez next season will wear a shirt reminiscent of the one Barcelona wore in the campaign the club won its first European Cup. Barça "teamed up with Nike to create a home kit which pays tribute to the 1992 European Cup final victory for the 25th anniversary" (DAILY MAIL, 5/30).

The Renault Sport F1 team agreed to a partnership with Admiral Yachts ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix. Admiral Yachts will get its branding on the R.S.16s Renault car, and both parties will benefit from technological collaboration (Renault F1).
