EPL Side West Ham Begins Auction Of Hundreds Of Items From Upton Park

EPL side West Ham has "begun cashing in on the affection" for Upton Park as hundreds of items "from toilet signs to turnstiles went up for sale," according to James Dutton of the London DAILY MAIL. The London club opened up an auction on Wednesday morning to last for three weeks, "with any conceivable item from a toilet sign to a shower fitting available for purchase." West Ham put 1,085 items up for sale ahead of its "summer move from their historic home Upton Park to the Olympic Stadium in Stratford." There are a further two auctions opening in June "full of West Ham-specific memorabilia," taking the number of items on sale to a "staggering" 1,899. Asking prices for items range from £850 ($1,240), for an "illuminated club badge in the Betway Stand First Floor Corridor," to a £15 ($22) Plunge Pool Notice from the Players Pool Area. A pair of stainless steel handrails from the players tunnel and an Enraf Nonius Manumed mobile physio treatment table, "as used by home side players are also up for auction" (DAILY MAIL, 5/18).
