Football Notes: Airlines Schedule Extra Flights To Milan Ahead Of Champions League Final

Agenttravel.es claimed that airlines are scheduling extra flights to Milan to "cover the needs of fans looking for tickets to the Champions League final between Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid on May 28." Since May 5, searches for flights from Madrid to Milan have increased by 731% and ticket prices have increased by 424%. This "is why Globalia, Air Europa, Halcón Viajes, Viajes Ecuador and Travelplan have strengthened their offers with many more flights" (AS, 5/17).

League Managers' Association CEO Richard Bevan said that 54 managers "have been sacked in England's top four divisions this season." He said that "the figure was the highest since 2001, with only five of those managers now back in work." Bevan: "It's another very relentless, disappointing and embarrassing season for the sport." Twelve managers also quit, with Bevan claiming, "It's the worst season ever" (BBC, 5/17).
