Event Notes: Turkey To Host ATP Grasscourt Tournament In '17

Another grass court tournament will be added to the calendar next year after the ATP announced on Monday that a World Tour 250 event would be staged in Antalya, Turkey in June. The tournament will take place from June 25-July 1 and "give players another event at which to prepare for Wimbledon." The tournament, one of seven grass court tournaments on the ATP Tour next year, will be staged at the Kaya Palazzo Belek resort where seven grass courts will be laid (REUTERS, 5/16).

A West Ham Ladies' charity match at Upton Park on June 5 "narrowly won a vote over whether it should take place." Out of nearly 12,000 fans, 52% were in favor and 48% against a game which would "raise funds for the Ladies' team and a final decision will now be made." The match would be the final public game at Upton Park "but some fans want" the Premier League win over ManU to be the last at the stadium (BBC, 5/16).
