Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian Owner Ann Budge insisted that the club will not let a £12M ($17.4M) redevelopment of Tynecastle "wreck Robbie Neilson's squad budget," according to Craig Swan of the Scotland DAILY RECORD. Budge is "spending the week running fans through impressive stadium plans in public consultations." Budge is "pushing on with the spectacular Main Stand project that will take the venue up to a 21,000 capacity." She has made it clear finances found for the stadium will not "come out of the manager's pot." Budge said that would "merely halt the club's outstanding upward curve and that simply makes no sense to her." Budge: "I'd definitely assure supporters it won't affect Robbie's budget. That would be shooting ourselves in the foot. There’s no point robbing Peter to pay Paul. We’ve got to carry on doing what has been successful -- investing in the team and developing young players to maybe sell on." Budge's reasoning "makes perfect sense and rather than harm the funds available for the team the stadium revamp could boost them" (DAILY RECORD, 5/4).
