Marketplace Roundup: Strongbow Becomes Official Partner Of Team GB

Strongbow has announced that it will be an official partner of Team Great Britain, with an exclusive agreement with the British Olympic Association. This is the first time that Strongbow has been an official partner of Team GB. Strongbow is launching a campaign with the theme: Supporting the Supporters. The sponsorship will be supported by a multi-million pound media campaign and Heineken will be working with its customers to develop bespoke plans for its consumers (Heineken). 

CIDER WORKSMagners Irish Cider announced a four-year extension of the partnership with Scottish Premiership side Celtic, which will see it backing the club until the end of the '19-20 season. Magners will continue to be featured on the green and white hoops, in a partnership that will cement Magner's backing of the club over a seven-year period. The cider brand, which has been featured on the front of the club's jersey since '13, will adopt a new position across the shoulders on the back of the jersey from the start of the '16-17 season. The Magners name will also continue to appear on the clubs training kit (Magners). 

SAMURAI KIT: Samurai Sportswear announced that Premiership side Exeter Chiefs extended its partnership with the Norfolk-based sportswear manufacturer by signing a new long-term deal. The deal will see Samurai continue to supply Exeter's players with its range of playing kit and off-field leisurewear as well as kitting out the club coaches and officials. The partnership was first signed in '10 (Samurai Sports). 

SAY CHEESE: The Wensleydale Creamery, producers of Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese, announced a two-year contract extension to its official partnership with Yorkshire County Cricket Club. The renewal deal will see the Yorkshire cheese-maker's logo displayed on the club's shirts, supported by a package of branding rights at Headingley in all forms of cricket until '18 (Yorkshire CCC).

Bell Media announced it reached an agreement to become the exclusive Canadian broadcast partner of the Invictus Games, including Invictus Games Toronto 2017 and the upcoming Invictus Games Orlando 2016. Taking place in Sept. '17, the Invictus Games Toronto 2017 will be broadcast exclusively on TSN (Bell Media).

Dorna World SuperBike Organization announced a new sponsorship agreement with Gaerne, the Italian producer of high-performance motorcycle boots. The agreement will see the brand featured on and off track in WorldSBK across the full calendar, giving the company exposure both trackside and in the paddock (WorldSBK). 

Hyundai Motors is launching a "Digital Fan Park" ahead of Euro 2016 and is promoting its slogan "Real Fans First." The Digital Fan park is an interactive online space. A series of video clips entitled "Euro 2016 is coming" will be uploaded on the online platform and various experiences will be offered. The Digital Fan Park will be available from April 15 to July 10 in more than 18 languages to fans in regions including Europe, the Middle East and Latin America (Hyundai Motors). 

Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Foundation recently invested TT$100,000 ($15,051) "to officially partner with the T&T Olympic Committee." Part of the proceeds given to the TTOC by the foundation "will go towards sponsoring the Annual Olympic Youth Camp." The Olympic Youth Camp "targets national junior athletes with the aim of preserving Trinidad and Tobago’s sporting and Olympic culture and helping create a brighter future for these young athletes" (TRINIDAD & TOBAGO GUARDIAN, 5/1).

Sports flooring designer and manufacturer Gerflor announced that through agreements with the Int'l Handball Fedration and Int'l Federation of Volleyball, Gerflor will supply Taraflex courts for volleyball and handball tournaments during the Olympic Games in Rio (Gerflor). 

The French Rugby Federation (FFR) announced a five-season (’15-16 to ’19-20) partnership with equipment maker Rhino Rugby “to become the official provider of the French national teams.” Rhino Rugby will provide training kits for “all of the national teams, the men’s, women’s, youths, as well as all of the rugby sevens squads.” No financial details were released (SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS, 4/29).
