Swiss IOC member PATRICK BAUMANN has been elected president of SportAccord, "an umbrella group of more than 90 Olympic and non-Olympic sports federations." FIBA Secretary General Baumann defeated Russia's ANNA ARZHANOVA 55-25 in Friday's vote. Arzhanova heads the World Underwater Federation (AP, 4/22).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Following a series of poor performances by Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims' first team since March and with uncertainty surrounding the club maintaining its place in Ligue 1, the club decided to relieve Manager OLIVIER GUÉGAN of his functions. Training Center Dir & Reserve Team Manager DAVID GUION will assume the interim position until the end of the season (Stade de Reims). ... League One side Peterborough Manager GRAHAM WESTLEY has "left the club following Saturday's home defeat to Scunthorpe." Former Peterborough player GRANT MCCANN "takes over from Westley for the final two matches of the season." McCann, who quit as a player at the end of last season and has since been on the Peterborough coaching staff, "may have a chance to stake a claim for the position" (London GUARDIAN, 4/23).
