A-League side Sydney FC appointed former Football Federation Australia Dir PHILLIP WOLANSKI to its board of directors. Wolanski has had a lifetime of involvement with football as a player, supporter and administrator. He recently stood down from the FFA Board, having reached the maximum term allowed. During that period he served as the Socceroos head of delegation for 11 years, including the past three World Cup campaigns. Wolanski also chaired the FFA's Football Development Committee (Sydney FC). ... Pro12 rugby side Newport Gwent Dragons Rugby Dir LYN JONES has left by mutual consent after "a period away through illness." Former Wales captain KINGSLEY JONES will take charge of the Welsh Pro12 region "until the end of the season." The club is preparing for a European semifinal on Saturday and Jones' departure "comes after weeks of speculation over his future" (BBC, 4/20). ... Former Ireland midfielder ANDY TOWNSEND is "working in a consultancy role" with League Championship side Bolton while its managerial search "drags on." He has arrived at the Macron Stadium "as an adviser to the new regime," which needs to find a "permanent successor" to Manager NEIL LENNON while shaping the squad "for a campaign in League One." New club Chair KEN ANDERSON "had hoped to identify the manager he wanted by the end of this week." However, the process "may have been held up" by the fact Anderson and CEO DEAN HOLDSWORTH, the men whose takeover "saved the club from financial meltdown last month, cannot agree on who they want to take up the post" (PA, 4/21). ... IEG Founder & former President LESA UKMAN announced that she will leave her position as futures director of IEG and its parent organization, ESP Properties, on April 30. Ukman founded IEG in ’82, leading it through more than two decades of growth and continuing to serve in a variety of strategic leadership roles after the company was acquired by WPP’s GroupM 10 years ago. IEG became the thought-leadership brand of ESP Properties upon the new company’s formation in May ’15 (IEG). ... Vice Media named WME-IMG Chief Accounting Officer & Global Controller SARAH BRODERICK CFO. She also has had stints as GE deputy controller and NBCU senior VP (DEADLINE, 4/20). ... The Olympic Channel named former Universal Sports Dir of PR CATHERINE PHILBIN communications manager. She will report to Olympic Channel GM MARK PARKMAN and work from the net's Madrid HQ (Ben Fischer, Staff Writer).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Colombian first division side Deportivo Cali announced that it terminated the contract of coach FERNANDO CASTRO after his team's 6-2 loss to Boca Juniors in a Copa Libertadores match. The club said in a statement that "the organization and coach decided in a mutual agreement to rescind the contract uniting them until Dec. 31" (MINUTO 30, 4/21). ... Bolivian first division side The Strongest named CÉSAR FARÍAS its new coach. His first game with the club was Thursday's Copa Libertadores match vs. São Paulo (OLÉ, 4/21).
