Event Notes: Royal Ascot To Feature Record Number Of Overseas Entries

A record number of overseas entries from eight countries are featured among a total of 394 entries for the eight Group One highlights at Royal Ascot in June this year. There are 164 overseas entries in all, compared to a previous best of 156 in '13, including a record 35 from outside Europe -- the previous highest was 27 in '11. There is representation from Ireland (81), France (44), the U.S. (18 -- the highest ever, breaking the previous high of 13 in '11), Australia (9), Germany (4), Hong Kong (4), Japan (2) and Singapore (2), plus 230 British-trained entries (Royal Ascot).

The FIFA Futsal World Cup Colombia 2016 launched its official mascot, the logos of the host cities and the first phase of ticket sales. Bucaramang, Cali and Medellin will be playing host to the competition's 24 teams and 52 matches. Ticket sales for the event also launched. During this initial phase, fans will be able to purchase Stadium Passports, which offer one ticket of the category of the buyer's choice to every single game in a particular host city, including a 30% discount. The second phase will begin on May 20, the day after the official draw takes place in Medellin. From this date, individual tickets for every fixture will be available at the normal price (FIFA).
