Formula E has added several new people to its sponsorship and hospitality team. It also made a couple internal promotions. All of the new hires will report to Formula E Chief Revenue Officer SAM PICCIONE.

Sport marketing company Sporteo Austria Senior Dir MICHAEL SCHMID will leave the company on April 30 to take on a role at the Austrian Football Federation (ÖFB). Until a replacement is found, Sporteo Int'l CEO HANNES EGGER and Sporteo Int'l Sales Manager WOLFGANG HARTTER will take over Schmid's duties (Sporteo). ... Vodafone Deutschland Consumer Business Managing Dir MARCELLO MAGGIONI "will return to Sky Deutschland" at the newly created position of chief commercial officer. The Italian will "join the German pay-TV broadcaster on July 1." As CCO, he will be "responsible for Sky Deutschland’s customer and revenue relevant areas (customer group, product strategy & management, Sky Media)." Maggioni was exec VP customer group at Sky Deutschland between '08 and '14, "the period in which the Sky brand was introduced in Germany and Austria" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 4/19). ... Turner Sports promoted Senior VP/Sponsorship Integration & Business Development WILL FUNK to exec VP/sales & property partnerships (Turner). ... Motorsports firm Just Marketing Int'l named WME-IMG VP/Global Partnerships Strategy & Activation TOM KNOX senior VP/partnership development for the Americas (JMI).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Second Bundesliga side 1860 Munich "has parted ways" with head coach BENNO MÖHLMANN. He will be replaced by the club's U21 head coach DANIEL BIEROFKA (BILD, 4/19). ... Japan Rugby Football Union side Kobe Kobelco Steelers named former Wallabies and Tonga assistant JIM MCKAY as its "new head coach." The 49-year-old Australian succeeds ALLISTER COETZEE, "who left to take over the Springboks." McKay will be the Steelers' "fourth head coach in four years, and will begin working with the team on May 30" (KYODO NEWS, 4/19). ... Former Romanian football player GHEORGHE "GICA" HAGI has "stepped aside as coach of his own club Viitorul Constanta at least until the end of the season after a poor run of results." Hagi said, "I want to analyze the situation." He added that he will be replaced by his assistant CATALIN ANGHEL, who was coach from '09-13. Regarding whether he would "resume his coaching duties," he said, "I still don't know if I'll be here in the summer" (REUTERS, 4/19).
