Source: EPL Side Tottenham Close To Deal To Play At Wembley

A source close to the negotiations said that Tottenham is "close to agreeing a deal" with the FA to play at Wembley for at least one season, according to Dan Kilpatrick of ESPN. Next season "will be Spurs' last at White Hart Lane and they need a temporary home while the old ground is demolished and their new stadium is finalised." Tottenham "had considered stadium:mk -- the 30,500-capacity home of Championship club MK Dons" -- but has settled on Wembley, and in February it confirmed it had held "positive talks" with the FA over the 90,000-seater national stadium. The source said that the talks "are being personally conducted" by Spurs Chair Daniel Levy and senior FA officials, and have progressed to a point where both parties "are confident of reaching a deal" (ESPN, 4/18).
