BeIN Sports Registers Record Audience For Man City Vs. Paris St. Germain Match

BeIN Sports “recorded its largest audience of the season” for its exclusive broadcast of the Man City vs. Paris St. Germain Champions League quarterfinal match, which Man City won 1-0, according to L’ÉQUIPE. The channel drew an average audience of 1.55 million viewers, “close to 50,000 more fans than the previous record.” BeIN Sports recorded a peak audience of 1,692,000 viewers (L’ÉQUIPE, 4/13). 20 MINUTES reported there is “nothing more enraging than a dropped broadcast of the most important match of the year.” BeIN Sports Connect subscribers “know this all too well” because of the Man City-PSG streaming issues Tuesday night. The beIN Sports live online stream also “ran into problems” during the first leg of the quarterfinals and during the Barcelona vs. Real Madrid match on March 22. BeIN Sports “took to Facebook and Twitter to quickly apologize” (20 MINUTES, 4/13).

IN SPAIN: The EFE reported a total of 8.36 million viewers, which translated to a market share of 43.5%, tuned in to Spanish broadcaster Antena 3's coverage of the Real Madrid vs. Wolfsburg match, which Real Madrid won 3-0. The audience peaked with more than 11 million viewers as the game concluded at 10:37pm local time. Antena 3 owner Atresmedia announced that this marked the largest audience of the season (EFE, 4/13).
