BBC, BT Sport Extend Rights For Shared Coverage Of FA Cup Through '21

The BBC and BT Sport "will increase their FA Cup coverage after extending their rights to the competition" until '21, according to the London DAILY MIRROR. The broadcasters have reached an agreement with the FA "to extend their shared coverage of the competition for another three years." Additionally, from '18-19, "more FA Cup matches than ever before will be shown on BT Sport," with an extra live match from Rounds 1-5 of the competition being shown. That will see their coverage "move up to 30 matches, exclusively live, per season." The new deal "also features greater coverage for FA development football and the women's game." The BBC will offer live coverage of int'l qualifiers, the Women’s FA Cup final, plus one England Women’s friendly match per season alongside additional live matches and Women’s Super League highlights. BT Sport will continue as the exclusive live broadcaster of Women’s Super League and from '18 will show both Women’s FA Cup semifinals exclusively live, the Women’s FA Cup Final and England Senior Women’s home friendlies (DAILY MIRROR, 4/12).
