Paris 2024 Launches Mobile App To Help Athletes Contribute Ideas To Olympic Bid

The Paris 2024 bid committee launched a mobile app "in an effort to allow athletes to contribute their ideas and suggestions to their bid for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games," according to Michael Pavitt of INSIDE THE GAMES. Targeted at 15,000 sports stars across the country, the app will have an option for athletes to "have a say" in the Paris 2024 bid process, providing recommendations "while on the move." Available for free on android and iOS, it will also feature a "Discover Paris 2024" section that will "outline the overall Games concept" and a game center. The app will provide athletes with the latest bid news, with Paris 2024 claiming that it "continues to show their commitment to engage with athletes across France to use their knowledge and experiences to shape the bid." Paris 2024 co-Chair Tony Estanguet said, "Athletes are the heartbeat of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and it is vital that we draw up on their experience and knowledge as we continue to build our bid centered on innovations, inspiration and communication" (INSIDE THE GAMES, 4/11).
