Marketplace Roundup: TVS Tyres Becomes Principal Sponsor Of Gujarat Lions

Tire manufacturer TVS Tyres signed up as the "principal sponsor of the Indian Premier League team Gujarat Lions," owned by mobile handset maker Intex. It is TVS Tyres' "first association with the IPL, which kicks off on April 9" (ECONOMIC TIMES, 4/4).

Suning Group, the holding firm behind Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning, announced it "will also title sponsor Jiangsu Ladies Football Club." The team will be renamed Jiangsu Suning Ladies FC in "what is reported to be an eight-figure yuan deal." The company will support the women's team financially as it competes in the Chinese Women's Super League, the Chinese FA Women's Championship and the Chinese FA Cup (SOCCEREX, 4/5).

MARKETING BRIEFS ... 
Ghana Premier League side Sekondi Hasaacas "signed a new sponsorship deal with sports betting company Mybet.com." The sponsorship deal includes a "renewable clause season by season." The worth and amount involved in the sponsorship was "not disclosed" (PULSE, 4/3). 

The England & Wales Cricket Board unveiled a new logo for the Specsavers County Championship which launches this weekend (ECB).
