S.League club Tampines Rovers will have an "even stronger" Liverpool flavor this season after the appointment of former Reds Manager GERARD HOULLIER as the club's int'l ambassador. This follows the January signing of ex-Liverpool winger JERMAINE PENNANT, who has helped the club "make an impressive start" to its '16 campaign. Houllier, 68, will offer Tampines "help with youth development and advise them on how to develop local football" (ESPN, 3/29). ... Cyclist DAAN MYNGHEER, 22, died in hospital "after suffering a heart attack" during the first stage of the Criterium Int'l in Corsica. He is the second Belgian cyclist to die in as many days after ANTOINE DEMOITIE was struck by a motorbike during Belgium's Gent-Wevelgem race. Myngheer, who turned professional last year, "had been in an induced coma" (BBC, 3/29).
