Santander Bank Continues Partnership With South America's Copa Libertadores

Banking group Santander will "continue as a major backer of South America's Copa Libertadores club competition for a further three seasons," according to SOCCEREX. The Spanish firm confirmed the renewal to Brazilian sports marketing news website Maquina do Esporte, "though the deal has yet to be formally announced by the company." More details are "expected to be made public in the coming days." Santander became the principal sponsor of the Copa Libertadores in '08, when it replaced Toyota. Financial terms of its sponsorship "are not available" (SOCCEREX, 3/21).
