Architects Of Atlético Madrid's New La Peineta Stadium Discuss Project

The architects of Atlético Madrid's new La Peineta stadium, Antonio Cruz and Antonio Ortiz, said that it will be a "pressure cooker with a lid" due to the "enormous echo" of the fans and "the stronger, more intense sound structure," according to the EFE. Fifteen months from the scheduled completion of the work in June '17, the architects "highlighted the importance of both the design and the atmosphere of the cover of the new stadium." Cruz said, "The roof, of the same material, vibrates, because it is not airtight material. Eventually, these stadiums have enormous echo. The sound of the fans will carry very well" (EFE, 3/22).
