Hong Kong's inaugural Formula E race in October "awarded its title sponsorship to HKT," according to Kevin Kung of the SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST. The telecom said that it "will provide a fibre-optic broadband network and other latest technologies to support live broadcast." HKT said that "other interactive experiences will also be available for racegoers." Formula E Racing (Hong Kong) CEO Alan Fang said, "This will become a massive event of Hong Kong." The HKT Hong Kong ePrix will cost up to HK$300M ($38.7M). The organizers "expect to sell around 40,000 tickets," ranging from less than HK$500 ($64.50) to around HK$10,000 ($1,290). The top-priced tickets "will include VIP access and catering." A "support race for young rising stars, the first of the kind in the series, will also be held" (SCMP, 3/18).
