Australian Olympic Chef De Mission Warns Athletes To Behave Or Go Home

Australian Olympic Chef de Mission Kitty Chiller has "singled out Tennis Australia when reiterating her tough-line stance towards misbehaving athletes," according to the AAP. Chiller said that she will "send any troublesome athletes or officials home regardless of their sport, which should come as a warning to young Australian tennis stars Nick Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic who continue to bounce from drama to drama." Chiller said that she will not "be afraid to make an example of anyone." Chiller: "When push comes to shove, I won't be afraid to discipline someone if they are not adhering to the standard we expect. I will be sending people home if they don't respect what they are part of." Chiller also said that she has "already had a conversation with Tennis Australia and team leader Alicia Molik." Chiller: "It's not just tennis but some of the values are not what I would want our Olympians to exhibit. ... I want an Australian team that Australia is proud of" (SMH, 3/17).
