Event Notes: FIA Orders Rally Argentina To Revamp 2016 Route

The second and longest day of next month's Rally Argentina "has been scrapped and redrawn following World Rally Championship safety delegate Michele Mouton's visit to the stages." Mouton recently visited the Villa Carlos Paz event and was "not happy with what she saw of the northern-most roads, which had been planned for day two." The event organizers have come up with a new route much closer to service, "shortening the second day while keeping the stage mileage high" (AUTOSPORT, 3/16).

The Indian field hockey team will play a four-nation tournament at the State Netball and Hockey Centre from Nov. 22-27, also comprising hosts Australia, Malaysia and a yet-to-be-confirmed team. The tourney will be followed by a two-match Test series between India and Australia to be played from Nov. 30-Dec. 2 at a yet-to-be-decided venue (IANS, 3/15).

The ASEAN Football Federation announced that Vietnam will host two football events this year. The tournaments include the 2016 AFF U19 Youth Championship in mid-September and the 2016 AFF Beach Football Championship from Sept. 24-Oct. 5. The AFF also announced that the 2016 AFF Women’s Football Championship will be held in Mandalay, Myanmar. The AFF U16 Championship will take place in Cambodia, and the AFF Futsal Championship will be in Thailand (VIETNAM NEWS, 3/16).
