UFC Latin America VP Jamie Pollack Calls Returning To Mexico City A Priority

UFC is "close to announcing a fourth event in Mexico," according to Carlos Contreras Legaspi of LA AFICIÓN. Conditions in the sport, however, "change every day," and UFC Latin America VP Jamie Pollack said that fans "should expect an announcement soon." Pollack: "We have had three events in Mexico and we absolutely need to return to Mexico City, it is a short-term priority. It is what we are planning but we still have to see about the days, what the card would be and TV requirements." The decision to hold another event like UFC 180 or UFC 188, which took place at Mexico City Arena, depends on Caín Velásquez "being able to return," or Henry Cejudo becoming flyweight champion. For Pollack, the possibility of returning to Monterrey "also has to do with whether a local fighter, like Eric Pérez, can be the star" (LA AFICION, 3/6).
