Event Notes: Pakistan Delegation To Address Security Arrangements In India

The Pakistan government has "constituted a three-member security delegation, headed by a senior director of the Federal Investigation Agency," to assess the security arrangements for the Pakistan men and women's team in India for the upcoming World T20. The security team "will leave for India on Monday and will take a final call by Wednesday." The government had "initially granted" the Pakistan Cricket Board permission to play in India, but the board has decided to "put the visit on hold" until it is guaranteed foolproof security. The PCB's move was prompted after Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had expressed his state government's "difficulty in providing security for the India-Pakistan match in Dharamsala," scheduled for March 19 (ESPN CRICINFO, 3/5).

The Int'l Cycling Union (UCI) announced that Hong Kong will host the 2017 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. The event will take place from April 12-16 at the Hong Kong Velodrome, and will be just the second time in track cycling’s history that Asia has hosted the event following Maebashi, Japan in '90. The Hong Kong Velodrome has a 250m cycling track and spectator facilities for 3,000 people (UCI).
