German FA (DFB) General Secretary HELMUT SANDROCK on Friday resigned from his post with immediate effect. The 59-year-old held the position since '12. Sandrock's successor will be elected at the next DFB meeting in April (DFB). ... GroupM President DOMINIC PROCTOR will become the Rugby Football Union’s third independent non-exec director on Tuesday. Proctor’s appointment for a three-year term sees the RFU Board reflecting a broad spectrum of business and finance skills. GroupM, of which Proctor has been president since Jan. '12, is the holding company for all of WPP’s media agencies. Proctor previously spent 15 years as CEO of Mindshare Worldwide, a GroupM agency that he founded in '97, which grew to become one of the world’s leading media agency networks (England Rugby). ... British Gymnastics President ALAN SOMMERVILLE is retiring. He was elected president in '13, having been CEO at British Gymnastics between '00 and Dec. '07 and chair of the association between '08 and '13. His involvement in gymnastics began in the late '60s in coaching when he met nine-time British Champion and two-time Olympian NIK STUART (British Gymnastics). ... Turkish football side Galatasaray Manager MUSTAFA DENIZLI has decided to leave the club. Denizli has only been with the club a few months, but “after disappointing results and elimination from the Europa League” Denizli told his players he was leaving the club Monday morning (LA MEUSE, 2/29). ... French Ligue 2 side Chamois Niortais has fired Manager RÉGIS BROUARD. Brouard’s contract was set to expire in June. He leaves the club 17th place in Ligue 2, only “two points from the relegation zone” (COURRIER DE L’OUEST, 2/29). ...  Former British Judo champion LISA GARRETT has been named General Manager of UFC GYM’s flagship location in Dubai, set to open in April (UFC).
