Bundesliga Games Draw Close To 1.5 Million Viewers On Sky Deutschland

German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland "drew close to 1.5 million viewers for its Bundesliga broadcasts over the weekend," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. Sky's game broadcast on Saturday recorded 1.42 million viewers. The number translated into a market share of 14% in the target demographic 14-49. It was "the highest rating since mid-December for the pay-TV channel." On Sunday, Sky's coverage drew 1.13 million viewers and a 6.2.% share in the target demo. The game between Frankfurt and Schalke, which ended in a scoreless draw, attracted 630,000 viewers and obtained a 2.3% share in the target demo. The game between Augsburg and Mönchengladbach was watched by 680,000 viewers. German free-to-air TV channel Sport1 recorded 120,000 viewers for its coverage of the women's DVV Pokal (German Volleyball Cup) final starting at 2pm. The number translated into a market share of 0.7% in the target demo. The men's final was watched by 130,000 viewers (DWDL, 2/29).

IN FRANCE: L’ÉQUIPE reported last Friday’s Six Nations tournament match between France and Wales on France Télévisions’ channel France 2 drew an average audience of 5.5 million viewers, translating to a market share of 22%. The match had a peak audience of 6.4 million viewers (L’ÉQUIPE, 2/27).
