Worcestershire County Cricket Club Announces Surplus Of $254,000 After Tax

Worcestershire County Cricket Club announced a surplus after tax of £182,412 ($254,000) for the 12-month period ending Dec. 31. This compares with £58,772 for the previous period and is the sixth successive year the County recorded a surplus after tax. The club is starting to see the benefits of its new hospitality and conference facilities, which have established it as a 365-day-a-year business, as well as the investment made in the growth of its academy. Outgoing CEO David Leatherdale said, "We are starting to see the fruits of players being brought through the club’s vibrant academy during the last five years, which will only continue. The club are in a very different and more positive place than five years ago and a great deal of progress has been made" (WCCC).
