Liverpool Signs 18-Month Regional Partnership With China's MG Auto

Liverpool agreed to an "18-month regional partnership with Chinese automotive firm MG Auto," according to SOCCEREX. The deal runs for "the remainder of this season and the entirety of next," expiring in the summer of '17. The brand will promote itself as the official Chinese automotive partner of the club throughout that period. As part of the arrangement, Liverpool players Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana and captain Jordan Henderson "will appear in a televised advertisement for the company which will air early next year." MG Auto is planning to launch a Liverpool-themed vehicle, the MG GS, "to celebrate the partnership" (SOCCEREX, 2/25).
