Franchise Notes: West Bromwich Albion Chair Leading Search For Club Technical Director

Premier League side West Bromwich Albion Chair Jeremy Peace is "leading the search for a new technical director, in a bid to improve the club’s record in the transfer market." Peace wants to "strengthen Albion’s infrastructure" with a senior figure to work alongside head coach Tony Pulis, with the aim of "making an appointment before the end of the season." Albion has struggled since the departure of Dan Ashworth to the FA in '13 and Peace "is keen" to improve the club's recruitment and scouting network after a number of "disappointing signings" (London TELEGRAPH, 2/24). ... Serie A side AC Milan President Silvio Berlusconi said that Bee Taechaubol has "a very good plan" for Milan, "despite reports the deal is in jeopardy." Bee agreed to buy a 49% stake in the Rossoneri for around €500M ($551.5M), but the deal has been "beset by delays, with fears it could collapse entirely." Berlusconi said, "We have to look forward at the 'new football.' ... We've thought of someone who can bring in new capital with the commercialization of the brand in Asia. Mr. Bee has presented us with a very good plan in that respect, which could allow us to bring in €100 million per year" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 2/24).
