Populous Exec Rod Sheard Confirms Construction Of Stadium In Monterrey

Architecture firm Populous Dir General Rod Sheard -- whose firm is building a stadium in Monterrey for Liga MX side Tigres UANL -- "assured that Monterrey will have a new stadium in the near future," according to Guillermo González of LA AFICIÓN. Sheard admitted that "while there are obstacles in the construction process, the facility will end up benefiting the metropolitan area." Sheard said, "The first thing to say is that it is going to happen. It is a stadium that I can't find reasons for the project to be stopped, although it is going to take some time. ... In every place where we build there will always be difficulties, but our job is to see how to overcome these obstacles" (LA AFICIÓN, 2/24).
