Teams are gearing up for the '16 F1 season by unveiling their new cars along with several new partnerships. With less than one month to go until the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, Sauber is the only one of this year's 11 teams that has yet to launch its new racecar. However, the Swiss team agreed to a deal with IFS as a principal partner for the '16 season. The Sweden-based global enterprise software company's branding will appear on the rear wing end plates and on the top of the monocoque on both Sauber C35s. The IFS logo will also be featured on the overalls and helmets of drivers Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr, as well as on the teamwear. Financial terms of the deal were not revealed. With the first winter tests currently underway in Barcelona, Sauber is using its '15 Sauber C34-Ferrari during the four-day test session from Feb. 22-25. Nonetheless, last year's car already features the '16 livery and as such the IFS logo. The rest of the teams on the grid presented their new cars leading up to Monday's first roll out.
Red Bull, which launched its new racecar at an event last week, landed
Tag Heuer as a new partner during the offseason. The Swiss company ended its 30-year relationship with
McLaren after the '15 season. Red Bull's sister team,
Toro Rosso, also added a new partner by signing a two-year deal with Japanese brand
Casio. McLaren compensated for the loss of Tag Heuer by reaching a 10-year deal with Swiss watch brand
Richard Mille.
