Football Notes: Ghana Club New Edubiase To Pull Out Of GPL Without Sponsors

Bekwai-based New Edubiase United will withdraw from the Ghana Premier League after three matches if no sponsors come on board, according to club President Abdul Salam Yakubu. According to him, the financial predicaments faced by the 16 clubs "need proper and careful examination as they cannot continue playing without money" (GHANA SOCCER NET, 2/22). ... La Liga side Valencia is preparing for its "first visit to Singapore," the home country of club Owner Peter Lim. Valencia Marketing Dir Peter Draper confirmed the news on Sunday, saying, "We have been exploring possibilities to bring the team to Singapore and these considerations are on course. We hope to say more in mid-March." The club has not visited Singapore since Lim acquired it in Oct. '14 (SUPERDEPORTE, 2/21). ... With the suspension by WADA that applies to all of Argentine sport, including football, Argentine National Sports Secretary Carlos Mac Allister "clarified the situation and said that drug testing will resume" next week (OLÉ, 2/21).
