Fans Beat UEFA TV Ban By Broadcasting Scottish Cup Replays On Social Media

Football fans "found their way around the UEFA TV ban by broadcasting Scottish Cup replays between Hibs and Hearts and Kilmarnock and Rangers live on social media," according to Mark McDougall of the Scotland DAILY RECORD. TV stations "were unable to show the matches live, with UEFA rules banning any broadcast when Champions League matches were on." But fans at the game "helped out those unlucky enough not to get a ticket and used the periscope app to show the fixtures from a fans point of view, with over 19,000 watching one stream from Rugby Park" (DAILY RECORD, 2/17).
