Event Notes: Belfast To Host 2017 24-Hour World Athletics Championships

Belfast, Northern Ireland, has "won the race" to host the 12th IAU 24-Hour World Championships in '17. The ultra running championships, "which are held every two years," will be staged in Victoria Park in east Belfast on July 1-2, 2017 (IRISH NEWS, 2/16). ... The 2016 Hong Kong 10s tournament will "help children with life-threatening medical conditions after Make-A-Wish Hong Kong was appointed official charity." The charity "will receive proceeds from the entrance fee and all on-site donations" at the GFI HKFC 10s, which will be held at Hong Kong Football Club from April 6-7, ahead of the Hong Kong Sevens (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 2/16). ... USA Rugby and TLA Worldwide announced professional rugby will return to Chicago on Friday Nov. 4 and Saturday Nov. 5. On Friday, the USA Rugby Eagles will take on the Maori All Blacks at Toyota Park. The following night, current defending World Cup Champion New Zealand All Blacks will play defending RBS Six Nations Champion Ireland. The day-two match will be played on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Soldier Field (USA Rugby).
