Media Prima Acquires Domestic Broadcast Rights To Malaysia's M-League

Media Prima acquired the domestic broadcasting rights to Malaysia's top football division, the M-League, until '18, according to SOCCEREX. Media Prima, which operates the TV3, ntv7, 8TV and TV9 channels, "is expected to show two live Super League matches every week and broadcast delayed Premier League fixtures." Last year, the FA of Malaysia secured a "lucrative" 15-year deal worth $303M with int'l media rights company MP & Silva. The FAM and MP & Silva have set up a company called the Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership to manage the rights, with the Media Prima agreement "the first major TV deal signed by the entity" (SOCCEREX, 2/12).
