Paris 2024 Logo Facing Criticism For Similarities To London Agency 4Global

Six months after the Tokyo 2020 logo was accused of plagiarism for its similarities to the Belgian Liège Theatre logo, “it’s the Paris 2024 logo now stirring controversy,” according to François Kulawik of SPORTS. After the Paris 2024 logo was unveiled on the Arc de Triomphe Tuesday, a Twitter user “announced the similarities” the logo has with London-based sports event consulting agency 4Global. When interviewed by GQ about the resemblances, Kheireddine Sidhoum, the creative director of Dragon Rouge, the design agency behind the Paris 2024 logo, did not hide his “surprise.” He said, “When I saw the logo I actually said, ‘Hum hum hum its really really close.’ … But I assure you that there was no partnership, no merger with 4Global, no willingness on our part to copy. It’s that simple.” When contacted, 4Global said that it “had not followed the unveiling of the Paris 2024 logo” (SPORTS, 2/11).
