African Basketball League Enters Partnership With Trace TV To Broadcast Inaugural Season

The African Basketball League signed a deal with Trace TV to broadcast the league’s inaugural season, which begins in March. Trace TV will air a minimum of 20 regular season games, as well as the All-Star game and playoff series on its Trace Sports Star Channel, which is broadcast on cable networks in 160 countries, including across Sub-Saharan Africa. Trace TV is part of Trace Urban, which was launched in '03 and is owned by media entrepreneur Olivier Laouchez. The Lagos, Nigeria-based ABL will begin play with six teams in four African countries on March 4. It is owned by NBA player agent Ugo Udezue, former NBA player Obinna Ekezie and Nigerian businessman Ralph Tamuno. “We are very excited to work with Trace TV to show our games all over the world,” Udezue said. “Trace aligns with our goals of using sports to invigorate jobs and tourism across Africa.”
