Exclusive: Haas F1 Inks Deal With Alpinestars To Become Team's Official Supplier

Haas F1 has struck a new partnership with Alpinestars to become an official supplier of the team. The Italian manufacturer of professional racing products will provide the U.S.-based racing team with all its technical wear. Haas F1 did not disclose any financial terms of the deal, which will be formally announced on Wednesday. Alpinestars joins Haas Automation and América Móvil (Telcel/Claro) as official partners of the team for its inaugural F1 season. Haas F1 Team Founder & Owner Gene Haas said from the beginning that promoting his machine tool brand, Haas Automation, was at the center of the F1 project. A Haas F1 spokesperson told SBD Global that additional partners could be secured ahead of the season-opening grand prix in Melbourne on March 20. “The team is in discussions with brands in a variety of categories,” the spokesperson said. In addition to providing the team with technical wear, Alpinestars will receive branding on the team’s cars. The partnership also provides the company with marketing rights to the team’s drivers, Romain Grosjean and Esteban Gutierrez. Both drivers have previously worked with Alpinestars over the course of their careers. The company is expected to feature the team and its drivers in some of its promotions, with specific details yet to be announced. Alpinestars is also a partner of Williams Martini Racing and Sahara Force India. “Forming a partnership with Haas F1 Team is a natural extension of Alpinestars’ deep involvement in F1,” said Alpinestars President Gabriele Mazzarolo. The company, which was founded in ’63, is also active in NASCAR, IndyCar, MotoGP and various other racing series around the world. Haas F1 plans to launch its online store in time for the new season.
